Actually they are poor and can not afford better. Short ranged and small bore.
Mosin PU snipers are still in use over there.
I have a few Mosin's, and I would not want to be on the receiving end. The sending end is bad enough.
Thousands, if not hundreds of thousands Germans were killed by mosins in WWII.
