M&P40c has everything going for it. I'd rather go with a Kahr, but the M&P is only 0.3" wider and with that you get a higher magazine capacity.

OP: I don't care for the compact version of either so I can't say I'd reccomend one over the other.

Crap out, fall apart, break.that clear it up any? I watch some of the testing when ocpd was thinking about switching to them.also in classes i've taken but they do better than taurus if that makes you feel better

You're the first person I've ever heard describe the XD line like that. I feel fine about mine, rounds fired is well into the thousands & it has only ever failed when I let it get FILTHY, then it'll catch a spent casing on the way out every once in awhile. But I don't beat it up either, I shoot it, I clean it, I repeat.
