Good grief, that is a scary thought. I can't imagine them all transitioning from their typical indifference to banding together in anger. A cat revolt would rival the zombie apocalypse.

I was taken on a behind the scenes tour of the Delhi zoo once. We saw a tiger up close away separated by only a chain link fence. It rubbed against the fence and purred exactly like a housecat. Fascinating and terrifying creatures.

My wife and I went to a tiger rescue on tour once. It was somewhere in Arkansas. Anyway I agree they are magnificent animals with the purring and chuffing they seemed like peaceful animals but it was very un-nerving to be that close to them with only chain link fencing between us. That was close enough for me.
