I feel it is a very under valued rifle. I found is easy to control and hard hitting out to about 300 yards. If the Nazis had gotten them into service sooner it might have made a big difference in the war.

I always thought that some of them got taken back to Russia after the war and that led to the development of the AK47.

The concept definitely influenced the development, but the mechanics aren't similar.

As much as I love Teutonic weapons, their "autos" were too complicated and over-engineered. (not the MGs of course)

Too little, too late.

Jet fighters, sub guns, and V2s....

Might have stopped communism in it's tracks.
