If one is anywhere near Dubois Wyoming (southeast of Yellowstone) there is a museum of military rolling stock from WW I to present.
The building houses the largest collection of military vehicles outside of the current US military.
Plan for a long day or two days to complete the full tour.
We visited the facility in July. Free for vets/active, $10 for others.
All vehicles have been fully restored to original condition with most capable of returning to service. The museum contains stories of military service people along with the displays. Also contains a bamboo forest complete with booby traps common to Vietnam to view. They have trained counsel on staff to help anyone overwhelmed with the display, it’s that real.
Through a mutual friend, actually got to visit with the owner Don Starks. Amazing story about his life.
He basically was a dope smoking hippy protesting the war, getting drafted and serving in Vietnam.
He had a total change of mindset while in the service selling medical devices afterwards to gain his fortune
Years after getting his fortune which is another story, he felt a duty to open this museum.
It also houses the authenticated rifle used at Bunker Hill to fire the shot that started the Revolution.
As huge as this museum is, (140,000 sq ft) he is planning on an addition that is equal in size to this to house the vehicles he owns but hasn’t restored yet.
All in a town of 1000 people where he grew up.

I forget which country it is, but one in S America still uses some WW2 German artillery. Another has some C-47s converted to turboprop gunships.
