Going with the chrome version in one of them...

what are the advantages/disadvantages of both?

I like that the ruger had the slide lock.. the P3AT doesnt...
the ruger costs more but im not sure if its worth the extra money..quality wise...
the Kel-Tec weighs less.. 1 or so OZ difference... lol

any opinions on either?

thanks guys...

Not to offend anyone here I hope...I haven't owned or shot either one. Appearance wise, the LCP looks better built IMO. You are going to get a TON of different opinions. I've heard 50/50 on both. I have friends who say they really like the Kel-tec, and others who absoluty hated his. Maybe you should go rent both and see which one works best for you....either way, Reddog1 sells them for a good price......:hey3:

Never shot the P3AT, so I can't say anything about it. But I have an LCP and it has been flawless for me with every kind of ammo I've tried an very accurate at close range.

I have only owned an LCP and can tell you that it was reliable and performed as advertised. I shot Hornady Critical Defense and FMJ and it always fed and ejected.

I think the Ruger looks better but the "nuts and bolts" of both guns look identical [to me] I don't know if the extractors are different or not.

A deputy friend of mine carries a P3AT and it will only feed FMJ reliably.

From what I hear they both have good customer service. I know personally that Ruger does.
