I take it you have never been in the military? Or any family that has served?

Exactly. This sort of thing and the people who line up like a bunch of sheep behind it drive me straight up the wall. There are too many people in this country who have absolutely no experience with the military who are willing to sell vets down the river with no comprehension for the sacrifices vets and their families make. Those sacrifices are especially noteworthy nowadays when we have servicemen and servicewomen doing multiple tours in war zones. The last thing we should ever cut or even think of cutting is funding for vets. There are plenty of other ways to cut spending. I'd rather see taxes raised than cut benefits for vets.

Bachmann never has been the sharpest tack in the drawer. Far from it.

HMMMMM, lets see Obama(U.S. Government) spent how much when he first got into office. They were handing out money to every business that screamed were not going to make if you don't bail us out and now they want to cut the V.A.'s budget. Oh thats smart.

Your right everyone is going to pull their belt tighter. BUT, since we have been at war for 10 years and have men and women going in and out of the combat zone multiple times and now when they need help you plan on cutting their bene's. Smart.

Let's start with money that is givin out in foriegn aid, now those that have been on welfare for serveral generations. Every little pet project that every two bit politician comes up with that one of his campaign donor comes up with.

Ok, I'll quit ranting. Oh and I'm a veteran.

:thanku:

If these politicians are so hell bent on spending cuts, how about they lead by example and take a healthy cut in pay across the board. The veterns of this country deserve everything they're getting and then some. Taking away from them is a slap in their face.

Thats okay.... We can borrow more money from China. My friends this country is BROKE. We are all going to have to make sacrifices. This great country is mortgaged to the hilt and in debt to China. Do you think that is a good thing?

By the way I am a veteran...

Depending on your service you may feel different when you hit your 60s and things start catching up with you. You're right that changes need to be made. But as long as we ask the youth of this country to guard our interests we are duty bound to honor that service completely and entirely.

There is so much stuff Congress does(pays for) that is unconstitutional, but when it comes to something actually constitutional (and righteous, to boot), they bring out the chopping block. There is something seriously wrong with that.

This is how I feel. While I agree that we need to cut spending, and cut deep, this is the wrong place to start. I agree that foreign aid should be the first step. I would bet that if we where receiving aid from some other country that was going broke, we would be the first to have to do without.
