I have a 37mm dummy round, like was used in antitank guns, and on the M-3 Stuart light tanks in WW2. It's a real practice dummy, has holes drilled in the side of it so you can see that it has a wood filler in it. Looks just like a live round except for the hole in it. The copper driving band on the bullet is date stamped 1942.
Have a cannonball, no idea on the date or anything, but it's like a 2" ball.
Have a 20mm dummy, like was used in the Hispano cannons from WW2, It is date stamped 1943 if I remember right. Interesting thing with it, the primer pocket is threaded.
My favorite is my March of '45 M1 Garand. Has a March of '45 barrel, and may be all original, but I don't know.
Supposed to have a piece of a B-17 that crashed into a mountain, but my buddy hasn't given it to me yet......
Wow, interesting question and great answers so far.
I own nothing unuusual, except a crazy ceremonial knife and sheath my brother brought back from Peru, decorated with donkey teeth and hair, and a goat horn. Oh, and a 3 legged dog.
Do you have any papper work? If not, i have a buddy that knows all about this kinda stuff. I can give him a call..........
Sorry dude it fit so dam good!
Those probably would have bought you quite a few 1868 1" Gatling rounds back in those days. I think my cartridge is worth about $300-$400 in it's fired state and generally good condition. Not sure what 1868 nickels are worth but probably a pretty penny!!
