I'd like to throw another twist. Paul on the road to Damascus, had a vision that changed his life.
Yesterday, the President, Hillary and others were watching live video as the seals did their work, hoping the good guys win.
Some Lefties are born, raised and grown surrounded by Lefties who never miss an opportunity to find fault at everything the US does, second guessing and looking for an excuse to put the US down. They are alienated from the US, don't feel part of it, they are not proud of it.
This time Obama and Hillary had the front row seat watching live those great men risking their lives for the nation. Afterwards they witnessed the nation cheer and support them.
We leave a football game with strong team feelings, is it possible that the events as they were unfolding yesterday had an impact on their psyche? Is it possible that they might view the world in a different light after this experience?
I hope so.

I'm not a conspiracy nut. The official story seemed logically implausible on the surface. Like I said, others with reasonable credibility came along with much better information than I was going on and I admitted that I'm wrong.

It may give you some added comfort to know that your initial distance assessment was a little off. It's approximately 600 nautical miles from the compound to the gulf. This would take a helo about 4 hours while a transport plane capable of carrier landing could do it in less than 3. Does this make the timeline seem a little more viable?

I used the Google Earth ruler and I make it close to 800 miles. The question is why would anybody want to fly the entire length of Pakistan in helos. It makes so much more sense to use a closer base. Looking on the map, Jalalabad is perfect only 150 miles away with possible bases inside Pakistan even closer.

Politicians are a different animal than citizens, but second guessing the actions of the government does not necessarily make one anti-American. Criticizing American policies/laws/actions does not make one anti-American. It doesn't make you a "Leftie". Nor does it mean they don't support/respect the troops.

A strong team feeling can be a scary thing when it comes to matters such as war. It's not a football game. It should take more than a pep rally to get our support.

In what light would you like them to view the world?

Did the google earth ruler give you statute miles or nautical miles? Since aircraft speed is measured in nautical miles, that's the unit of measurement I used.

I just went through and read this 22 page cesspool of a thread again. I found exactly one poster demanding pictures before he would believe Osama is dead. One poster. A couple other posters mentioned wanting to see pics out of morbid curiosity. A couple others said things like "they might as well show pics". One poster directly questioned the validity of the DNA test and called for pics. I may have missed one or two, but there still wasn't many. I only found the one.

Quite a lot of "conspiracy theorist" quips being thrown around in a 22 page thread that might have one actual conspiracy theorist in it.

It's real interesting how people marginalize the minority opinion. I assume I'm being counted as a "conspiracy theorist" because of what I posted in this thread. I assume others with similar opinions are as well. Questioning the reactions to Bin Laden's death = conspiracy theorist. Real easy to call someone crazy and move on. Requires no effort.
Sad ain't it?

What I find sad is that there are still those that think that Bush, the Brits, and every stinking intelligence agency in the world lied about Sadaam's WMDs with the exception of the French. They seem to have had it right. That right there is sad by itself. And it's also sad that there are those that think the current numbnuts partying in the White House is actually stupid enough to address the nation and the world saying that that the POS is dead. Only to have him come out with a video commenting about some current event that happens a week from now, thereby proving that the POS isn't dead after all. It's sad that they think numbnuts is really that stupid, because I personally think he's sharp as a tack and is doing all that he's doing knowingly, and purposefully. So just like Bush and the WMDs, numbnuts is pretty damn certain that they killed the guy and now he's being eated (term stolen from Ignernt) in the ocean...

All I have to say is God bless the USA, the Navy Seals of team 6, all of our armed forces, and the friends and family of those lost on 9/11.

....and to those who complain on how his burial is not Islamic enough.....sharks gotta eat too.
