We look at things real time and how it effects us. We look at things like, "I'm not as bad as that guy". God looks at things eternally. ... It's not about what's fair and what's not. God isn't always what we consider "fair". He is alway right and just. If He were "fair", we'd all go to hell.

Yep. You got that right!

Does he print out a quarterly financial statement as to where all the money that is recieved goes? If not, ask him why.

Probably could get access if I asked for it but not sure honestly. I guess some might say "gotcha" on that one since I'm not sure. However, I really don't care. I don't give to my church so that i can dictate what happens with the money or because I agree with where and how every penny is spent (I'm sure I wouldn't). I give when, to whom, and how much I feel compelled by God. If He calls me to give and I refuse bc I don't like how that person or organization spends it, I would be disobeying a calling from God. Just like if I feel called to give a $20 bill to the guy on the corner. What he does with it is between him and God. Me doing what God calls me to do is between me and God.

Bottom line, If God asks me to give to someone or some organization, I do. I pray they will use it honorably and know God will work with it no matter what. Then my part is done and the rest is between them and God.

This is America and everyone is free to worship God in their own way. I just find "prosperity gospel" a little distasteful. The people who preach it seem to get all the benefit, while their flock never really seems to get anything but a fleecing.

I do agree money does not equal happiness. In fact, having money brings a whole new set of problems and headaches. A lot of them caused by the "entitlement" mentality of friends, families, and employees. Lots of people figure that just because you have money you should donate, loan, "help out" others all the time. There is an expectation that you should give and when you don't, people get resentful. Money can make your life easier and a little better, but it does not make a person happy. That has to come from inside.

King David asked the same thing in Psalm 37.

What often appears to be a blessing, isn't really a "blessing" at all.

Or, God is more hands off than we would like to believe. Those that succeed or fail do so based on the choices they make and the circumstances they've been injected into and those that want to give credit to God for the success do so and those that don't do not.

When presented with information, people can decide whether or not they believe it to be truth, then respond accordingly. God doesn't force anyone to acknowledge Him, to give Him credit, or even love Him.

Show me, in the bible, where our decision to choose to believe is completely up to us.

I can show you and explain very logically, that we do not and cannot have free will on this earth. According to scripture.

That appears to be a baited conversation. I'm not going to engage you in a public forum that will make both of us looks like goobers. I'm not asking for an argument; I don't enjoy debate. And this is certainly not the place for that.

I'd invite you to send me an email or PM if you'd like to continue in a private discussion.
