How come we don't see any legal malpractice cases where people who were screwed over by an attorney win court awards of $$$$$$$$$ big money?

I can promise you that in my life, I've had more lawyers than doctors cause me pain and suffering. :)

and...

I've always said this about any highly regarded professional occupation such as doctors, lawyers and such: Just because they are in said profession, doesn't make them automatically flawless or godlike as some people think. There are good doctors and bad doctors, just the same as there are good mechanics and bad mechanics. It would be great if there were some foolproof method of accountability where the bad ones were drummed out of business. As it stands, I believe that their malpractice insurance rates just go up and spread around to others and it ends up hurting the industry in general and passed along to consumers.

Maybe we should cap the lawyers fees. Have a system like a minimum of $5000 or 1% of the award, whichever is greater. Then there would be less incentive to take up BS claims. $500,00 for a "bungled manipulation" seems like total BS. I'd bet dollars to donuts her disc was herniated before the manipulation.

BTW, doctors have all kinds of limits on how much they can make so it's only fair.

Just more proof these people are total hypocrites. They are quick to destroy the rights of working people, but have a totally different opinion when it comes to themselves. When are you people going to wake up and stop supporting these lackeys of Big Business?

Who are you suggesting we should support.

I would agree with that. But some cases don't even get to the file room. I know the case of an 88yr.old woman
whose daughter told her she couldn't take out a reverse mortgage for repairs on her paid for home that her husband and
son, (both deceased) built for her. The daughter told her she would loose it if she did, and that she'd end up loosing it
anyway if she didn't sell it. Then that daughter and another told her they'd help her move and provide storage for her
furniture collectibles, etc. Long story short, after the papers were signed they changed their minds, the woman lost
much of her belongings and most of the money from the home sale to move. Two lawyers evaluated the case, one
said it wasn't undue influence or fraud, and the other said the respondents didn't have enough to make the case worth it.

Justice for sale, hope you can afford it.

your anecdote certainly represents the totality of the injustice system.
