A highway near you.
Believe it or not I agree with you guys on the unmarked cars. Drivers around me are MUCH MUCH MUCH better behaved when I am in my patrol car than when I am in my POV or an unmarked unit. Better behaved = safer imho.

Seriously. I don't remember his name. He lived in Moore. He took the rifle and I drove up to his house and picked it up in a few days.

The fact is I have been stopped quite a few times over the years (not so much in the last 10), and except for two experiences, I have never had bad experiences. In fact, I've actually made a couple of friends.

Nobody likes to be stopped. But, Jesus, get a grip! It's not like they are going to haul you out of your car and sodomize you on the side of the road. They are just human beings doing a tough job. Like all people, some are good, some are not so good. That's any profession.

I believe you are talking about Charlie Wells. He was OHP and did gunsmithing on the side (retired now). He walked my wife down the aisle at our wedding. And yes....that sounds exactly like something Charlie would do. Great guy!

Did he ask the guy in the Prius where he as going?

The Meth heads running rampant in OK can wait!! We've got a Prius flashing lights in the fast lane! I'm gonna go with the theory it took him a mile to get up to speed. Do the whales a favor..... don't pull over a prius..... it's for the children.

Guys, I know it's just like a girl to point out the obvious, but you can only go as fast as the car in front of you ... Why is everybody in such a hurry??

I've seen folks weaving in and out of traffic, driving other folks off into the ditches on both sides of the road and they never get out of my sight. They don't get to the exit any faster than I do ... Why?? Because in the end, they can only go as fast as the car in front of them for heaven's sake ... :D

A couple of weeks ago, OHP had a "hunting blind" setup at the first bridge east of the Turner Turnpike midway toll booth. On the westbound side, there was a large wooden box on stilts with a hole cut in it. A OHP officer was sitting there with a radar gun. When I passed under the bridge there were around 6 OHP cruisers parked off the highway. The last time I saw it was the week before Christmas. It is quite a setup.
