excellent thanks! looks like I have some suckers to go remove....I actually culled a few tomato plants that were way overcrowded and not producing anything, I felt bad for them but hey, if a hen isn't laying she goes in the pot so I needed to apply the same philosophy to the tomato plants LOL

GRRRRRRRRR I have something eating my tomatoes! ! !
It will eat tomato in half, nibble thumb size holes in others.......
I haven't seen anything in the garden area.
The raised beds have a 24" chicken wire fence on 3 sides and a chain link fence on the 4th that is the dog yard.
The storm cellar has raised germs on three sides and is next to the raised beds.

Dog ran off 2 weeks ago...about that time the 'matters started coming on and the despicable dad gum varmit is now hitting
them hard nightly.
All I have ever seen around here is rabbits, gophers and turtles. Turtles can't reach the spots that are eaten.

HELP! ! ! ! ! !

The thumb sized holes are probably birds. Pick the tomato's when they just turn pink and let them ripen on the counter in the house.

Whats eating the half, I couldn't say.

I've got a bazillon tomatos, too, Neanderthal. I guess that having ducks nest in between your two plants is good for production  lol ... because every morning when I go out to take care of all the critters and gather eggs, that's where the 2 ducks have laid their eggs. Good for me, I don't have to go on an Easter Egg hunt every morning like I was having to do. :P

I can hardly wait for these things to start turning pink. I planted later than all y'all so I'm still a couple weeks out from getting any to eat ... Unless I want fried green tomatoes, that is ... Hmmmm ... that sounds good ...

I saw it, I saw it.........talking to myself and taking my good morning weewee, I see movement on the berm around the
storm shelter. .....it's a big ass free loading 'mater eating RAT! All of 4' long, give or take 3'4" or so (he wouldn't hold still for a
measurement).
Dang it........ To paraphrase Yosemite Sam "Ah hates rats"

Did ya shoot it with your gun, or have to go back in the house to get one? :D

Went out awhile ago, and saw my first heirloom tomato's ripe. Way back in the bushes. Couldn't hardly see them.

Also saw several deer tracks in the garden. Green beans probably won't last much longer with the deer already eating the top off of one of them.
