How did you spend your time at college? It seems too many people spend their time partyin', drinkin', and sexin' instead of actually studying or doing something creative/productive.

I was married with a pregnant wife, worked 40+ hours as a local freight delivery driver, had to maintain 17 credit hours to keep out of the military draft.

Just couldn't do it. Ended up in the Draft, which eventually ended up as a plus.

I made my living from the training I got in the military.

Recently retired still doing the same thing.

I worked the 11pm-7am shift as a machinist at Halliburton, cleaned up and drove to Lawton to class at Cameron. Drove home, slept 3-4 hours, studied some and started over again. Wasn't fun but the job and the GI bill paid for my degree and got my wife through nursing school. On weekends, I tried to keep our two junker cars running. It was all worth yhe effort!

No college except for some music comp courses, I went to tech schools. I was a boxer half of high school into my early 20s and didnt party much when training. For school I went to an art institute, a mortuary science school, then later a factory school in Cleveland OH for automotive car color just to help my dad in his business. While going to art school I also worked at an apprenticeship in a tattoo shop to learn the business I would some day be in. Weekends I played guitar in bands in clubs so when I did I partied alot, until I got my first livein girlfriend- when we moved out of Oakland across the bridge to San Francisco she put an end to my partying when the baby arrived.

Worked my rear off at both OSU and OU trying to survive on almost nothing. Some semesters I flew two 40 hr. blocks instead of the normal single 40 at OU working on my Aviation degree. Oh, yea… now I remember why I was so damn broke. Each of those 40 hour blocks of flight time cost $2,850 on top of my normal class fees. Those were early 90s dollars when you could rent a Tomahawk wet for $37 an hr. and 100LL was $2.50 a gallon, I’d hate to imagine what it costs now.

I slaved working temp jobs in the Summer, Winter Break and even Spring Break doing everything from building heat exchangers to unloading barges at the Port of Catoosa . I never went on Spring Break, I couldn’t afford too.

Damn, I love my current job now that I think about it!

Go on! What do you do?

Hard to believe I posted in this thread almost 3 years ago.

damn zombie threads i never check dates! To answer your question, I own a real estate brokerage.

I was labled with a "lack of respect for authority figures" Graduated high school 6 mos pregnant and pulled myself up by my bootstraps, and am still conquering life.
I come from a long line of entrepreneurial people and I don't like being told what to do sooooo opening my own business was/is the best fit for me :-)

Hiding from all you crazy people!!!
Lol old arse thread but why not....
I'll tell you exactly how mine was spent!
Baseball! Baseball! Baseball!!!!!
We've all heard the "Student Athlete" phrase where they say the "Student" part comes first. Well, let me tell you how BS that is. When a school is giving you $13,000 a year to play baseball, that comes first. If you get a degree in the mean time them good for you.
Here was my daily schedule....
Mon-Friday offseason.
6am run... 2 miles every morning.
8am class.... We were all required to have an 8am class.
Had to get all classes in before 2pm because.....
3pm practice til 6pm
Go eat!
7am-10am workout/study hall..... Pitchers and position players rotated. While one lifted the others did study hall.
11pm curfew! We had team housing and coach was there to make sure everyone was in thier rooms by 11pm.
We had Saturday off. Sunday's we had practice at noon til whenever.

During season.
Travel
Play a few games
Travel some more
Play a few more games
Then there was some more traveling and games played too.
As far as school went during season I couldn't tell you cause we never saw the inside of a class room.

What's great about it was in all that BS we still found ways to party and play with the girls!
