Hi all. I'm looking into getting a Crossbreed, or Alien Gear style of holster. I currently have a Don Hume IWB for my Glock 19 and I carry appendix. I'm wanting to get a full size M&P and carry at the 3:30 - 4:30 position but I'm concerned that the grip will stick out too far for this as it does when I use my old DH holster in those positions.

My question is, when you use one of the Crossbreed style of holsters, does it make the grip of your gun cling noticeably closer to your body than it does with the old style of IWB holster?

I have a looper brand iwb that looks exactly like the super tuck. I have a glock 19 and it is pretty darn snug. But of course mine isn't s full size. Are you just worried about printing? If so it really doesn't matter the way our law is now. Unless carrying past a sign and don't want it to be noticed. But in all reality no one that isn't carrying will ever look down at that part of your body to notice. Have you thought about using a kydex owb? I have one and it keeps my pistol extremely close to my body and that is open carrying.

Tony, its kind of a long story so I apologize beforehand.

I want it to be concealed without a doubt. I just don't like sheeple knowing or discovering that I have a weapon. That's why I've always carried appendix style thus far. I'm wanting to get an M&P and sell off my Glock for a couple of reasons. 1) S&W is a USA company. 2) I just shoot and like M&P's better than Glocks. I experimented with the Glock after my last M&P 40c got stolen. :scream: The only problem is that I've gotten spoiled to the extra rounds and grip length that the G19 offers vs the M&Pc so the only other alternative is to carry a full size M&P. Therefore, I'm gauging the feasibility of that idea by using a different holster since it will certainly not be comfortable (to me) to carry that gun appendix style.

I liked my Looper holsters but the best Crossbreed-style I've seen so far is Old Faithful. They have replaceable kydex shells that use the same holes. If you switch guns, just switch $15 shells. The assemble your own version is available on ebay and is right at $45.

For absolute concealment, I use the velcro clips with the velcro on the inside of my Looper belt.

It will carry as close to the body as any other IWB holster. I carry my glock 23 at the same position (about 3:30) just behind the hip bone and it conceals great. Comfort and position and how easy it is to conceal will depend on your build and of course clothing. I personally just wear under a tshirt most of the year.

On the rare occasion I carry IWB, I carry a full size 5" XD45 in a Crossbreed Supertuck at ~2-2:30. Never had a concealment issue, but after ~12 hours I would have an "XD" imprint in my side from the grip that would stay there through the next morning.
