I used to be an avid sci-fi reader, then over time my reading shifted to professional literature, wwell now I've decided to get back into leisure reading again.

I decided to start by re-reading Isaac Asimov's original Foundation Trilogy.
Looking for something to follow, probably from Larry Niven.

Does anyone else have any sci-fi literature they either liked, like, or would like to read?

I would highly recommend the Dark Tower series by Stephen King to anyone. It's a Sci-fi fantasy horror fantasy set in a post apocalyptic future. I'm not the biggest SK fan but this book series is amazing. I've read through them probably 5 times now. There are a few firearm mistakes in it, but they're easily forgiven.

Thanks. Another good series of, I don't know, post-apocalyptic sci-fi (?) is "The Remaining" series by DJ Molles.
Fairly good and fast paced but he sometimes drops too many story "strands" that he simply doesn't have time to develop.

Firearm mistakes by SK are not surprising, given his anti-2A position. Eff SK and the horse he rode in on.

As far as my sci-fi must-reads go:

Andy Weir, The Martian
An outstanding story, and excellent use of science and engineering to overcome seemingly hopeless situations and problems.

Robert Heinlein, The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress
A great story, and a nexus of sci-fi and political theory.

Jerry Pournelle and Larry Niven, The Mote In God's Eye
Exceedingly well-paced story with an engaging plot.

Jack Campbell's Lost Fleet series
What happens when you drop one man who understands strategy into a war that's been raging so long that the combatants and leaders only understand tactics--and barely that?

Daniel Suarez, Daemon and Freedom(tm)
Two novels that form one story, set in the "just over the horizon" future. Who're the good guys and who're the bad guys? I guess it all depends on your point of view...

The Riverworld series by Philip Jose Farmer is good. There are four or five books in the series to keep you busy for awhile.
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams is another good one.

Robert Heinlein; Stranger in a Strange Land explorers attitudes about religion and sexuality, really good.

And another one of his, Time Enough for Love, where we've conquered aging, so now what do we do with all our time.

Might as well just say it: anything by Robert A. Heinlein is worth reading! My favorites--the ones I've read at least twice, if not more--are The Puppet Masters and Glory Road.

I'm a big fan of R.A. Salvatore, but that's really more fantasy than sci-fi.

Maybe check out John Ringo, lots of Kindle books. Does a lot of space/interplanetary warfare, has a cool zombie series, etc. I've read I dunno, 30 or more of his in the last year or so.
