Picked this new Colt Lightweight Commander up today, gonna take it to the range tomorrow to see how she runs. Not crazy about these Black Cherry G-10 grips from VZ, but I can fix that purty easy. First things first: Shoot the crap out of it. range report to follow. Out.

I picked up the 9mm version of this last week, haven't had an opportunity to shoot it yet. First impression is good however the frame to slide fit seems a little gritty compared to the other 1911s I own (Nighthawk T4, Combat Elite, and Colt Rail Gun). Hopefully will get her out this week. What grips do you plan to go with?

Either the ones in my Avatar or a set I'm having made in Ebony...

I just sold a GSG 1911-22 with a set of those on it. They are on her web site; about $99 new though. Very well made; worth the money if you are into fancy grips.
