the individual has a right to carry his weapons, but only pursuant to the laws of the State of Oklahoma(provided those laws are constitutional and provide all eligible citizens with permits on request). Is that an actual select-fire fully automatic "assault rifle" or a civilian semi automatic rifle variant? That's a huge ****ing difference right there.

I'm confused. I guess I haven't paid as much attention to OK law since I don't live there anymore. I thought y'all had open carry now? This guy would not have been arrested (lawfully) in Missouri for this.

The news article is very confusing. Only lawful to open carry pistols. Since when? I have my CC (now carry) and can do as I please. He's an idiot and makes us all look bad but I think the reason he was arrested has nothing to do with pistols if he had a carry license.
Unless I have this all wrong and need to re-read the law let me know.

Open carry for pistol. Not rifle. Exceptions for hunting and going to a range. If you have a CC you can have a rifle in the vehicle with the mag loaded and inserted, but not chamber loaded.
Bolt guns the same. Chamber unloaded. I keep an AR in the front seat when going to the farm and have been stopped a couple of times for traffic concerns. I don't keep a mag inserted, but its laying on the seat next to the rifle. Rifle is left with the dust cover open, and the bolt open. OHP and Deputy had no issues. Never mentioned it actually, but walking down the street generates fear among the public with the few nutcases out there that do it for attention.

He had CC for his hand guns, no problem. It was the AR that was the issue, no open carry of a long gun as I've always read it, unless you're on private property, in the act of hunting, sport shooting, competition, etc. Dude had a ton of ammon on him for a casual walk.

Thanks Dennis and Okie. I had read this story on Yahoo, or elsewhere, and it had mentioned the hand guns would have been legal if they weren't concealed. I re-read the post here and I stand corrected.
Sorry for confusing the thread.

While I agree that what he did is really odd, it would be legal in Missouri. I'm shocked MO is more lenient than OK on gun laws. Remember the Mike Brown thing? The dudes on the streets with their ARs? Pretty sure they were left alone. Meanwhile loudmouthed, drunk, Missouri state senator Jamilah Nasheed was arrested with a gun in her purse. I highly doubt she was prosecuted, or even had her CCL revoked (if she had one), even though both should have happened by law. I'm sure she got special treatment as she was just profiled for sitting during the pledge of allegiance during a senate session. :puke:
