Newer RV's tend to use PEX line for plumbing. While there is still a chance of PEX "fittings" failing, the line itself will expand when frozen and then return to normal when it warms up and thaws. Almost 10 years now of living full time in our fifth wheel, and in all that time there has only been two fittings fail, and that wasn't even because of freezing. I now have a PEX crimping tool and clamps in the RV.

Living in an RV is fun...

...in more ways than one.
Yes I agree that the Pex pipe is sooooo much better. I remolded my neighbors master bath last year in her trailer and use Pex Pipe. Only the lines to her shower froze last week but thawed out on their own with the warmer weather. Like you, I have a crimper and clamps just in case. LOL

What size Pex did you use for the shower? I think my spare shower has too little flow because of small Pex.

It is also a bath and even with faucet wide open it isn't impressive nor from the sink. Toilet also takes a longer time to fill.

I used 3/4 diameter pipe for all of water runs in the bathroom/shower.

Someone left a heater going to thaw pipes in a camper today. It caught fire and destroyed the trailer and damaged the one next to it as well.

From a number of years ago when one of our PEX fittings blew. I was at the computer in our RV when I heard a "different sound," so I got up to investigate. Water was all over the floor in the bathroom. Woke the wife up and then ran outside to the "water manifold" to shut off the water to the toilet. (A water manifold allows one to shut off one part of the RV without affecting water to the rest of the RV.) We cleaned up and were fortunate that not a lot of water was produced.

The following pictures show the blown fitting and my quick temporary fix before actually buying a PEX crimping tool and doing it right.

Some time later (maybe a year), we had a similar occurrence with a fitting on our shower.

Now, after showing some very unwelcome photos, here is a better one...

...Lady is digging for a ground squirrel. Park tour bus driver stated that the bear would expend a good portion of the caloric value of the ground squirrel to get it out. I guess ground squirrel to a Grizzly is like chocolate to a human...

Got word from other park tour bus drivers that the Lady did get the ground squirrel.
