And I do, at least once a year, as high as I can reach. No way to keep up with them, though. Oh, maybe if I trimmed a couple of times a week.

Carpenter ants and yep they're eating it.One of my black jack trees out back has a bunch of huge black ants all over it. They are living in the darn thing! Are they eating the tree or just living in it? I have never seen it before.

Carpenter ants loooooove blackjacks because they can almost completely hollow one out and have it still be strong enough to stand.
