FYI, I cut the two pieces on the 45 degree bias to keep from seeing the joint from the active area of the room. I used to do this with the overlaps on vinyl house siding.

I had a friend that had a crack 3X larger than what you have and it kept coming back he tried all kinds of stuff in cans and tubes.
I told him try elastomeric sealant and that fixed the issue 3 years later it still looked excellent no crack.
Regular caulking dries hard and will not stretch and you can't keep that joint from stretching in Oklahoma.
