I was at the Shawnee show about 30 years ago and on old man pick up a gun and pulled the trigger. The gun fired and the bullet hit the fat round tubing on the back of the chair. Scared the crap out of the little boy in the chair and I think they had to call an ambulance for the old man.
Some moron was going around the show loading guns. At least they caught him.

So does anyone know about what time the ND at Wanenmacher took place?

I'd say it was 1130 ish? Heard it, it was on the upper level and we were on the lower level. It was quieter than expected for a shotgun but I knew it was a gunshot.

Going on second hand info but supposedly a kid (young?) was going around pulling triggers at tables and he found a loaded one. Was told it was pointed towards the ceiling.

A friend of mine had an AK sitting on his table at a gun show years ago. This goober asks to take a look at the rifle, so my friend clears it and hands it to him, whereupon goober pulls back the bolt, drops a round in, and chambers it.

Needless to say, my friend snatches the rifle back, and asks him what in the wide, wide world of sports he thinks he’s doing. Seems someone told him that you can tell if a barrel is shot out by sticking a live round in it, whereupon he got a lesson on the difference between the chamber and the muzzle…

I was in a gun store that had a big ziplock bag on display with all different kinds of ammo in it (.22 LR, shotgun shells, brass and steel case centerfire).
This was several years ago, before the current period of crazy.
Anyway, another customer asked about it. They said Oh, that's ammo we found in quote/unquote UNLOADED guns customers brought in to sell or trade. :homer:
They have the jar of shame for that at Wilshire.

So, we have a parenting fail compounded by a vendor safety fail.

And just like in real life, there’s a shrill witch trying to enforce rules that wouldn’t have affected the event on people who weren’t even involved with it…
