I like nice stuff but am cheap. I have 4 rotomolded coolers, and all were bought second hand off message boards for a fraction of the new price. Before buying another cooler, take your time to shop for used ones.I actually have the same (or nearly the same) Coleman as that. You won’t be disappointed at all. Unfortunately, mine is a much smaller than these 70/77qt and I wanted as close of a comparison as I could get. And I know that the free air volume inside will effect the results. But if end up getting another lifetime I plan on one more similar to it in size, so may do another melt test eventually between those two.
Yep. My plan for the “better” cooler is to be the food cooler. The other will be for drinks (since drinks can fluctuate in temps and not be as effected as say meat or other foods would be). So the one with the food (versus drinks) would only be opened at mealtime. So should help keep it from being overly exposed to the outside airAny cooler is affected by ambient temps and how many times it's open and closed. keep drinks in a separate cooler and your food stays cold longer. We've completely melted the ice in a Yeti 110 in one day getting drinks in the summer Texas sun.
