Interesting - at the WalMart near me in Reynoldsburg, they had about 8 boxes of WWB .45 100ct. They were $32.**, with tax they were $35.**. Such a good deal compared to the range my brother and I visited, we got two boxes. :)
Neither is my answer.
I owned and shot an H&K HK45 and love it. Amazingly easy to handle, great ambi-slide and mag release and very soft shooting for a .45.
This set was taken with the HK45 Compact.
After I got used to the pistol a little, shot a little better. The pistol is just too small for my hands. I had trouble finding a place for my support thumb and my trigger finger was scraping the bottom of the trigger guard.
As I said...
Well, I got paid today and decided to go to the range again! Been looking forward to it since I went on the 12th. Again, I had a LOT of fun! This time I shot two pistols - the H&K HK45 Full Size .45ACP and the H&K HK45 Compact .45ACP. All shots were taken at 25 feet.
Here is a link to the...
Figured I'd chime in with a few of my personal favorites. :)
These are all from my "Most Interesting" set on Flickr - http://www.flickr.com/photos/cybrslydr/sets/72157600030474179/
I certainly suggest looking at the airplanes full-size as you can see a bunch of details in them.
All were...
Thanks guys. :)
I'm going to buy my own eye/ear protection, so that's $4 I'll save. I won't need the instruction, so that's another $35 I'll save, plus I'll eventually have my own gun, so that's another $9.95 I'll save.
So, that's almost half the charge I'll save and can spend on ammo - even...
I then finished out with this target at 30ft. Pretty straightforward.
All in all a really, really fun visit. I hadn't counted on it costing as much as it did. Total of $88.63. Total breakdown is...
Range Fee - $21.95 unlimited (only option)
12"x18" target - $1.87
8" round target - $.75...
I posted these pics and story in the "Out of Stater's" thread, but thought I'd repost the pics in the appropriate forum. :)
This was the first time I've ever shot a gun. Rented a SIG 226 9mm using 115gr Blazer FMJ.
This first target, the range guy told me to aim at the middle - and my first...
lol
Was talking with my Grippos guy today (Grippos are potato chips) who is an avid shooter. Apparently he's got a FFL guy in Dayton who quoted me $760 + tax on the HK45.
I'm trying to find out if this is FNIB with all accessories. If so - HOLY CRAP. I'm going to Dayton! :)
EDIT: This...
I'm starting to lean towards the HK45 now after some more searching and reading. It's newer, has the P30 ergonomics and the Picatinny rail system. Sounds like the perfect pistol.
Is there any *noticable* difference in accuracy between the full size HK45 and the Compact variant?
Also - what's...
I know what you mean about the sticker shock! I'm thinking of getting the USP Compact Tactical .45. It's going to be about $1100 including sales tax (any other taxes included?... This is in Ohio) from the dealer I'm checking.
What do you suggest for target rounds in 45?
Thanks for all...
The P30 certainly looks nice and all, but I dislike that it's only in a 9mm. Granted, the .40 is coming out in Spring, but I'm going to be purchasing soon with tax refund money. No way I can hold on to it that long. :D
No - I did not. I assumed they were similar in size.
I can hold either I think - though the HK45 IIRC, is the one I held last time.
I thought the HK45/USP were the full size and the Compacts were the smaller, with the 2000SK being the smallest.
