Well, I got paid today and decided to go to the range again! Been looking forward to it since I went on the 12th. Again, I had a LOT of fun! This time I shot two pistols - the H&K HK45 Full Size .45ACP and the H&K HK45 Compact .45ACP. All shots were taken at 25 feet.

Here is a link to the set I uploaded on Flickr. All photos taken with my iPhone 3G.

First off, as everyone has stated that's shot one, the ergonomics on the HK45 Full-Size are amazing. Lots of people talk about how they dislike the finger serrations on the front of the grip as they can mis-align with your fingers. For me, this was not a problem. The pistol felt like it disappeared into my hand. It felt extremely well balanced and did not fatigue my hands/arms/shoulders this time through. I put 50 shots through it and here are the 50 - I shot 10 at a time and took a picture after each 10 for comparison and to show progression.

For these 10 shots, I decided to shoot at the upper #9 on the target.

Not sure what happened on this one, but after firing those 100 rounds, I need to adjust my grip as it appears I'm cranking my wrist towards my body when I fire. I'm going to try and hold with the palm of my hand further back on the grip.

I was surprised how close together so many of the shots were - especially when I stopped, reloaded and shot again!

That's the last I shot with the full-size HK45. Wonderful weapon! I think I'm going to purchase it.

This set was taken with the HK45 Compact.

After I got used to the pistol a little, shot a little better. The pistol is just too small for my hands. I had trouble finding a place for my support thumb and my trigger finger was scraping the bottom of the trigger guard.

As I said, I had a great time and really look forward to another visit. Recoil on both pistols were very tame compared to what I was expecting. I just need to work on my grip and I think I'll try 'em out at 35 feet. :)
