we don't have a key fob but do have a transmitter key that has worked for years. we have entered the security code to no avail, and trust me we have watched every youtube vid there is and took action. You just can't afford to have a mech work on a car this old with 260k miles etc...

any ideas to help gents and ladies

Long time Honda owner here. I’m guessing the battery went dead and even though you replaced it, it’s in theft mode?

Try the 5 digit security code for the radio. It should be in your manual. If not, the dealer can give you the code based off the VIN. Once I got my code, I wrote it in big sharpie in the book and under the hood.

nissan forklift at work went into limp mode had to leave off the battery 24hrs and as said make sure you have a good battery with no dead cells ans fully charged try again....on that note 3 different forklift dealers in tulsa couldn't reset it i finally figured it out.
