How is this tax on a fundamental, specified, individual right any different than a poll tax or a voter literacy test?
Those were also designed to keep undesirables (in those days blacks) from exercising a fundamental right.
One would expect a court to throw out this garbage.

This is just another way for them to bury their heads in the sand and think people will not buy things if they are over taxed. My guess is a smart shop owner will go literally just outside the "tax area" and reap the profits.

I'd totally be down for a tax CREDIT of up to $1,000 per year on gun and ammunition purchases.
