Hey guys. Had a friend that approached me about buying a couple guns. One was a standard Glock 43 (non x) but the other was a SIG P226. I have a copy of the blue book of guns that is dated (36th edition - 2015) but I had no idea there were so many variations of the P226. It has a serial starting with U61, which makes me think it was from 98-99 but haven’t found much more information. Any suggestions on narrowing down the serial to a particular model to see what it is worth? Thanks in advance!

I'm hesitant to direct you to another forum, but the SIG Forum had a "Date your German SIG" thread. You can see it here: https://www.sigtalk.com/threads/looking-to-date-your-german-sig.498/

I think the U serials were made in West Germany.
Mine is a U it was made in 90's, would have to look on the box for sure for date.
There are certain proof marks on the frame for a date code I think.
I will try and post it later,

UU is an American made seems like.

Mine is a 1995 U5xx xxx
