If I was going to build a 223 to ring steel out to 1k I would go the 223ai route. Easy to fire form, greater muzzle velocity, and less case stretch. Your chamber set up and twist rate will pretty much limit you to shooting heavies only. Although many have had issues getting VLD bullets to shoot accuratly a properly set up chamber and time at both benches will yield excellent accuracy.
