Finally got around to shooting my new to me Type 53. It has a surprisingly nice bore. Shoots palm sized groups standing up shooting like a man. I dont fancy sandbagging a rifle and then bragging about what a great shot I am. I couldn't find any original Type 53 slings so I had to fashion one out of some old leather and a Russian sling. overall I'm happy. Especially with the tiny import stanp compared to the new ones.
