I bought this for my son to drive. I told him if he made it a year without wrecking or tearing it up, I'd get him something a little nicer. He made it, so we found a 2008 F150 4x4.
1998 3rd door Chevy Silverado
Clear coat pealing on hood and cab top, very few dents/dings.
5.7 V8 with 192k miles but runs like a champ. no tick or shutter and shifts smoothly
Electric windows/door locks all work
AC and Heat work great but the blend door actuator knob broke. Didn't realize it was the problem until we changed out he actuator. You can manually switch it.
Interior is very good for it's age. Stains on the floor carpet but husky floor liners installed
Factory radio plays but the volume is very subdued. Has cd player and multi disc holder. We don't own any CD's so I'm not sure if it works.
New fuel pump in the last year. Hole cut in bed to change then tacked back into place and sprayed with primer.
Has 2 inch tow hitch.
Installed the very expensive LED headlight bulbs, they are super bright.
Brakes are soft, you need to pump the brakes a couple times to have some descent pedal. We've bled the brakes but didn't improve much. Probably needs a new booster.
Radiator leaks a little down by the drain plug. I can't tell if its the plug or the plastic housing. I have new radiator to go with it.
Very dependable truck. Smooth ride at interstate speeds. Figured I'd give the gun community first dibs.
