Thank you gentlemen!
Neck…what neck?Looks like that fella’s gearing up for the rut with that massive neck and all.
Awesome buck Ted! He's a dandy!I climbed the same tree I was in opening morning. I was hoping for another doe, or a spike. I don’t hunt big bucks intentionally even though there are some bruisers up there. Then this guy walked in. FWIW he did not seem to be even thinking about the rut. Congrats on the double! I did that once. 3/4 miles away from the truck. Just about died dragging that buck across the freshly disked wheat field. Decided to go home and get the three wheeler to drag out the doe. By the time we got back, coyotes had found the carcass and pretty much destroyed it. Lots of processing in your future.I made it out a little late. He came in while I was climbing into my stand so I shot it from the ladder. While I was reloading, she came to stare at him. They were kind enough to fall next to each other on my road. Hunting last week in Pitt. county made me appreciate the game rich environment that is my area of alfalfa co.View attachment 524456View attachment 524458
Thank you. I’m glad I didn’t have to haul these out very far at all and I’ve got a minute before they need processing. They’re getting right in ice now.Congrats on the double!
