Oh no, don’t believe everything you read. When we had peanuts growing here in the county, way more than we do now, deer were in every peanut field you seen and I mean lots of deer.
Elk like peanuts as well. A co-worker's dad lived in the Lawton area. He was a peanut farmer and constantly complained about the elk tearing up his fields. Told the son I'd be more than happy to help, but his dad didn't allow hunting. Even for his son.

Sounds like a fun guy.
He actually was. Incredibly soft hearted toward animals even though he raised cattle for slaughter.
He just didn't have to see it when it happened so he was OK with it.
More than once he called me to dispatch a cow that was a downer or diagnosed with a cancer.
His oldest son and I did a lot of bullet testing after properly dispatching the cow. We learned a lot about how bullets perform when contacting bone, etc.

Not too much to report, but did sit this morning for a few hours without much luck. Had a doe and yearling pass by about 7:15 heading towards my feeder a few hundred yards away I imagine and that’s it. Cameras have been pretty slow lately for me. Hoping the activity picks up soon for us and everyone else.

My son is wanting to shoot his first doe this Fri on youth season so we will see how that goes.

The activity on my cameras and at the corn piles have died the last 4 days i was getting 20 to 30 pics a day and they would go thru 200#'s of corn every 4 days, the last 4 days i have got 1 pic and corn has hardly been touched.
Acorns are dropping. My son has been putting something down to get them around the feeders/stands. I’m going out this evening but don’t have high hopes. The only thing that has been coming around the feeder is a mature doe with twins. She has had twins the last couple years and I think she has another year in her.
Might let her walk but ya never know til it happens. I guess it boils down to when something shows up. I don’t like to track and dress in the dark, so there’s that.
