Lowes has brand new empty ones for about 30 bucks, then to fill them, almost at the price of buying already filled ones.

You also have to pay a state tax on the tank on top of the purchase price when you buy a new propane tank. Don't remember the price, but it's just a few bucks.

If they are for a project, i.e. not using for propane storage, I got several of the older variety you can have.
