.223 Wylde barrels??

What is the difference and are there any pros and cons? I just obtained an AR pistol and noticed that the barrel is a 7.5" SS .223 Wylde....I'm not familiar with those.

Yep, it will allow you to shoot 5.56 without pressure issues, but offers better accuracy potential accuracy with .223 than the 5.56 chamber. I see no practical benefit over a standard 5.56 chamber in a 7.5" pistol barrel.

It's a tighter chamber than 5.56, so tends to provide better accuracy and brass life, but may not be as reliable when dirty. I like a 5.56 chamber on anything that may be used for a fighting role.
