Here are a couple of my favorite 280 Ackley Improved loads -

CASE: W-W 280 Remington fireformed to 280 Ackley Improved / match prepped

PRIMER: Federal 210 Match

POWDER: IMR-4831 / 60.2 grains

BULLET: Nosler 150 gr. Ballistic Tip

VELOCITY: 3,218 fps

..........................................

CASE: W-W 280 Remington fireformed to 280 Ackley Improved / match prepped

PRIMER: Federal 210 Match

POWDER: IMR-4831 / 57.3 grains

BULLET: Sierra 160 gr. B.T. - H.P. Game King

VELOCITY: 3,042 fps.

..........................................

Notes on the above 2 loads!

These loads were developed in my rifle and we're safe in my rifle only! Any and all loads in other rifles should be worked up slowly and cautiously. You and only YOU are responsible for the loads that you put in your guns!

For my guns and loads, bullets are always seated .007 into the lands...

Cases are neck sized only...

The barrel on my gun is a 28" Wiseman/McMillan with 4 grooves and polygonal rifling. Gun is built around a Remington 700 action...
