I did have some of the copper pins get stuck in the cases and in the primer pockets sideways due to the length. I tossed those pins out and eventually got them all and very seldom do i get a stuck pin.. usually a small tap and they fall out if i do get one.

The BB's would not clean the primer pockets ..If i am spending time making a solution or buying media i want the cases to be all clean everywhere.
Pins are the only thing I found that will do it without needing to take a qtip to the primer pocket to remove black residue.

Most of us have copper wire laying around and time.
I made a tumbler for my 2 quart V8 bottle out of a copy machine. tiny rollers and tiny motor.
It worked but the little motor got quite hot so I took brass cases and placed I think 4 on the little motor to act as a heat sink.
It worked. I only used it 3 times and tossed it in the recycle bin. The plastic holes the rollers went through got hot and elongated.. i knew it would not last as it was a lot of weight and plastics.

My current tumbler is the first one i made.
Old steel filing cabinet drilled holes for rollers and had to cut rollers down and weld back together to make them fit.
Duct tape on rollers acts as traction device and the V8 plastic bottle has duct tape on it also Gorilla tape.

The rollers and DC motor came out of an AC treadmill a very heavy one that would go up hill. the electronics quit and the person tossed it out for big trash day.
I had no idea a DC motor was in it.
It has a tag on it or sticker states 95Volt DC runs slower of course on 12 volts.

I think another motor like that would be sweet for an E bike.

The tumbler of mine I use it in the place I took the picture my crappy shed with auto engines and transmissions and all other kinds of stuff.

I use SS pins - 0.047” diameter, 0.255 in length. I don’t recall ever getting pins stuck in the primer pockets or in the case. After cleaning, I pour the brass and pins into an RBCS rotary case / media separator and roll it 20 times in each direction, 2 or 3 times. The pins fall out of the brass and collect in the bottom of the case / media separator.

You can load all the ammo you want for anyone you want as long as you dont sell it to them. You cannot "engage in the business of selling ammunition" without a 06ffl minimum. What a person does on their own time is their own business, if your buddy wants some ammo have him pay for the components.
