I want to load some fairly light 357 ammo for a short barrel pistol. I'm partial to 158 gr lswc bullets. I have HP-38, Bullseye, Unique, and Universal Clays powder. Anyone have a favorite load? Also, can I get by using regular small pistol primers or do I need magnums? Thanks

For those powders you have zero need for magnum primers.

Unique and Universal Clays ought to work fine. Especially the Unique, it's been used for years and years and is a great powder for medium loads.

Unique and SPP (not mag) here. Not sure what velocities are, but I want to chrono them compared to some other "hotter" loads in short barrels (2 3/4" and 4") since a lot of .357 data is for 6" barrels.
