ow does the .357 Sig stack up against the 10mm? I have heard that most 10mm is closer to the .367 mag than the .41 mag. The .357 Sig is supposed to mirror the .357 mag, so what gives. Would the .357 Sig be a good woods gun?

The .357 SIG loaded hot is still less powerful than the 10mm using intermediate loads. Also, the 10mm can throw a much heavier bullet (180-200 grains).

I would say a better comparison is the .357 SIG is loaded to moderate .357 magnum offerings whereas the 10mm can be loaded to HOT .357 magnum offerings, and beyond.

If you load 10mm to the top end of the SAAMI specs, it spits like some factory .41 Magnum loads.

.357Sig is lucky to get to .357Mag specs.

10mm is truly a magnum case, the case web is magnum thick and it uses a large pistol primer.
If you're a reloader and you're not beating the hell out of your 10mm cases, a lot of people have 20+ reloads on their cases. I've seen some people go so far as to classify them as "indefinite" reloads.
As always, check your brass every time!

Mitch Harrington of J&K Bullet Casters ( www.jkbullets.com ) shoots 10mm Auto pretty heavily. He also sells 10mm / .40 hard cast lead bullets for hand loading / reloading.

I appreciate it guys, I don't know why I veered of the 10mm path. I have 21 SF that I need to get the parts so I can throw the whole upper on and a few mags and hit the field.
Thanks again.

10mm is much more versatile, especially for a woods gun, i hace a glock model 20 and 29 in 10mm, had a glock 33 in 357 sig, loved the round but bullet weight is very limited, the 10mm is a truly amazing and powerful round!

9X23 is way cooler than 357 sig. I have a jonesing for 1911's in 9X23 and 10mm. Just imagine a 1911 with 10 in the mag and 1 in the chamber. :drooling:

There are some really cool cartridges that just aren't used very much.

I even think factory 9X23 makes major PF.
