416R Stainless vs 4140 steel barrels

Have you ever shot out a barrel? If you haven't, then either would be just fine. If you have, you have to weigh the cost between the two to the extra you expect to get out of the 4140, which may or may not last longer than the 416R. If you shoot the volume to replace a barrel fairly frequently then you will realize a few hundred rounds here or there in barrel life is pretty meaningless. I would pick more based on maker than material.
