That 36gr, 3031 is a crazy accurate load out of my 1874 too, no trouble banging the gongs out at 600y. You can even shoot, lift your head and have time to see the splash off the gong and the dust that it brings up off the ground lol.

Yes 405gr remington bulk jacket sp or 405gr cast. I've got a bunch of old cast 480gr spitzer bullets that shot really well also out of that gun.
