Drove my 4x4 today in 2x4 mode. Like a boss.
my 4x4 is stuck, sitting in a field to the frame waiting on a wrecker. Heavy dodge bucket trucks and muddy fields with snow don't mix.
16!!!??? Now that I got my 4x4 avalanche a couple months ago, I get 13-14. So sixtsounds great. :-)

I only use 4x4 to get unstuck, so I can put a hundred dollar bill on the dash that nobody can grab!!!
I have 2 4x4s and an AWD/4x4 and they all 3 get used all year long. I have alot of fun in the 4x4s in the mud, deep snow, and driving on rain soaked or snow packed mountain roads in northern California. But this driving on the ice here is no fun at all. I have a business to attend to in central Iowa so I have had to drive in deep snow there too for years and its really not a big deal once its packed and you just take your time. Living here though the freakin ice is a real fkr, I hate it, kudos to those who drive well on it.
Could the "stopping on a dime in ice" be because there was a semi-truck immediately in front of it? That's the easiest way that I know of for stopping quickly.
