You may want to dump the chain and use something like a baler belt. It’s aggravating to have to walk or ride several hundred yards to fix a cut chain.

I use 1/2” chain, it can take minimum 4 223 hits perfectly before letting loose. Can take a lot of hits before needing replace, and then I have single links ready for replacement. 1/2 in lasts a long time. Don’t be missing! LOL!

Local fire dept have to routinely inspect and replace hoses. Just stop by and ask if they have any used hose. Three rural fire dept in my county have monthly inspections and will give it away if a fireman doesn't want it or request it.

Exactly. The belting be it baler or cut conveyor belt we use at the range can take many hits before needing replaced.

Today the chain did fine but the tpost got...um... shortened... while checking elevation adjustments at 400. Windage was spot on but it was a BIT low (smaller target on right)

As items decinegrate you'll make adjustments to the way they hang. I like the 2x4 brackets but they also have pipe brackets as well. You can have many plates hanging from a 8 foot 2 x . All can be found on flea bay.

I’ve always wondered about those t-post hangers. So the T-post itself didn’t hold up to rifle hits?

It got hit a few times before it broke but it's definitely not super robust. Live and learn!
