I have known this gal since she was 10 or so.
I grew up with her mother. The grandfather of the mechanic gal is the one who sold me my 1947 Dodge truck when I was 17.
I still have that truck.

She calls me her dad.
Fine by me as she was dealt a bad card when it comes to her father.

Her brother had wrecked this car before she was old enough to drive.
She was told she could have it .
I made it road worthy many years ago straightened the unibody and strut tower and I had her pull the starter and oil pan off of it so i could weld up the hole in the pan.

She put it all back together.
Found out the fuel pump was bad.

I took her to pull-a-part and we found a Taurus and I had her cut the floor under the back seat with hammer and chisel and tin snips to access a fuel pump without dropping the tank.

She then found out where she needed to cut and made an access door on her car.

The tank was full of dehydrated fuel deposits that look like rust and hang from the top of the tank.

That filled the fuel pump filter assembly big round cup looking thing.
She cleaned the tank by hand and has cleaned that filter cup recently at a shop a friend of hers owns.
The mechanic at the shop told her the fuel pimp was not working the other day.

She said it is the filter surrounding it and it just needs cleaned.
He said he never did that just replaced the entire assembly.

She showed him how to do it all and he commented positively on the access door and her ability to get all that apart and cleaned out and working.

She is not afraid of dirty work.
I am proud of her.
