A couple smart whacks with a plastic hammer should loosen the rust and junk holding them. They are usually loose fitting as you screw them in, an then back off til lock screw hole lines up.

First, make sure the receiver is locked down in a vice.

I have used this with great success on door hardware screws that have been beat up and screw heads marred.

Just make sure you check the direction you want to turn before each blow. They like to jump into reverse.

Anyone that has ever owned a motorcycle has to buy one of the impact screw drivers if doing your own maintenance

I’ve only had one a-5 before and I didn't have any issues.

I had been treating them Kroil but added some PB. So...both. Was preparing to hit it with ATF/acetone but they came free before I got to that stage.
