I ended up with several of my fathers' knives after he passed away a few years ago that are in decent shape but look a bit rough. I'm looking for any suggestions on cleaning them up and making them more 'useable' (opening/closing). I don't know that there is a lot of monetary value, more sentimental.
Thanks.

Some knifemakers will take in their products to repair/restore--one OSA member sent a knife to Benchmade last year to get it restored after it got lost in the yard for a couple of years. I don't know if Ka-Bar does, but they're still in business, so you might contact them and see if they can help you.
