Academy in Enid

Went to Enid yesterday, to see Kim, my audiologist and after having breakfast at We Too, had an hour or so to kill so I dropped by Academy to see what they had on the ammunition shelves. Just curious more than anything else.

I was surprised to see that their shelves were fairly full. 9mm, 38 special, 45 ACP, 40 S&W, etc. The prices were half again as much as the pre-Wuhan prices, but I didn't think anyone was being gouged. I picked up some Federal 9mm for $18/ box of fifty and was reasonably happy.

Academy has raised prices. They arent below market anymore.

Bass Pro has pre-pandemic stock levels of 9mm and most everything else, except for 7.62x39 or any other AK ammo. They had enough 9mm to stock about 1/5 of an aisle top to bottom... Not horrible prices either considering today.

No primers of course...

i think there's something ironic about reloaders desperately finding nothing but loaded ammo on the shelves......

for me it never made sense for anything except bolt platforms.
