Not to be extremely off topic but I thought I'd chime in and mention that the Walmart in Enid carries reloading supplies and components as well.

You need a special area for gun powder some new strict laws on storage and selling of powders.
So is what the guys at Outdoor America store told me. and is why they do not sell powders

sportworld dongs jerrys all have the powder on the shelves. now blackpowder requires special storage and handling and why most stores dont sell blackpowder

I'm new to handloading and could soon see I'd need waaaaayyyy more then 1k primers I bought from Jerry's...

ended up with 10k from powder valley for iirc $27 1k... saved me a grip of cash even with hazmat, and of course there were bullets with that order...

1 week after Midway had the same primers on sale for $25 1k:smash:

and already its time to break into the next 5k box very soon !!!!

I suspect they did a test store at the new one here in Lawton. The only thing they carried were winchester primers (small and large). The last time that I popped in, I noticed they didn't carry them anymore.

Like you guys, I been them 3-4K at a time. During the craziness I went into Bass Pro and asked for primers. They brought out one sleeve and said that was my limit. I chuckled and said that wouldn't even get me through one afternoon. The guy had a look on his face like "Yeah, me either and is sucks, I'm sorry."

Stupid corporate policies.

The Academy in Edmond has CCI and Tula primers for $3.90 for 100. Didn't ask about buying them by the case, but they had plenty. They also had #11 caps, Pyrodex pellets and flake powders. Saw lots of Hornady bullets, rcbs and lee single stage presses.

Oddly, I didn't see any dies.

Academy will start carrying powder. Yes, it does take special storage. I have not heard of reg changes on black powder. Maybe a Tulsa thing. Outdoor America could have carried powder, but chose not to.

I think OKC passed some law about 10 or so years ago almost making it prohibitive to stock.
Something along the lines of a super duper bomb shelter to store it in.
