Don't be obtuse . There are others who don't have a leftist agenda and protect constitutional rights , I do not in any way shape or form support commies even when on rare occasion our interests intersect. If you're ok with commies that's great, but I am not and its where I depart with others . The constitution isn't a suicide pact
The problem is folks that claim to "protect constitutional rights" are always left or right. Both sides have an agenda, and I'm not playing for either team. Without a true critic (leftists) - the Right would run roughshod over the Constitution faster than a new York minute.

Lawyers on the right might point out the evil taxpayer dollars going to welfare moms for instance, but without left-wing adversaries, the topic of taxpayer dollars going to corporations probably wouldn't be brought up much.

Once upon a time, aka; many years ago, I peeked into the creation of the ACLU and people involved, etc. IIRC, they were of commie persuasion, but it's been a long time ago and I'm forgetful in my old age. So, can take it for what it's worth.
Regardless though, I'm in favor of Constitutional rights and enforcing of them, ACLU or not.
I think the biggest problem I have with ACLU, is their fight for these rights minus the 2nd amendment. I don't recall them ever advocating for those rights, and if you're gonna pick and choose, it blows your credibility with me and kinda supports having an agenda other than equal rights.

They have on one or two occasions, but you're not wrong.

They seem to be more of a pro-1A movement, and I do support that just as much as I do the 2A.

Just a thought on what I have observed over the years is that the so-called right is on the Constitution whereas the so-called left is off the Constitution. Since the Constitution IS our government, I side on the right. Abiding the Constitution works.

As for the ACLU, its goal cannot be strictly aligned with We the People since it sides with law breakers (Illegal Aliens). (Makes me wonder how much "support" the ACLU receives from the cartels ...)(Always follow the money.)

Thats treason and those involved need to be held accountable like the Jan6th people. But for real treason.
That brings to mind the fact that no one can pardon an act of treason - before or after a pardon. That is the "loophole" that can be pursued regardless of those preemptive pardons Biteme issued - as well for anyone who has been pardoned for any crime that might reach the level of treason if properly pursued in spite of any claim of double jeopardy.
