Some places are gung ho on the CYA. I sent an automatic knife in to Hogue (yes they makes great knives in addition to pistol grips). They accepted the knife and even repaired it for free even though I bought it used, but they made me have it shipped to my FFL to get it back. Mine only charges 10 bucks so no big deal but I've seen some FFL's ask 50.00 or more for a transaction.

Optics Planet is following the law, Federal law, while other sellers are available who do not worry since nobody is being prosecuted, while I would imagine many of those same sellers will not ship to states or city/localities where illegal and with a DA who might go after them. Just shop elsewhere, as others have said. But Federal law is clear, no interstate traffic in autos except to military and police, whether legal to possess in your state or not.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.
One thing I found interesting is this item is a no-go with paypal.
I'm kind of thinking, the Optic Planets and such stores that offer paypal, which I have points I could cash in thru paypal, seem to lean towards issues with shipping across state lines and with that will only do it if it is to some military, law enforcement, fed with a purchase order with their letter head.
Thanks again,
Michael

There it is, I was reading circles around what you just said. It helps having sounding boards like this here.
Thanks,

Shooting surplus is where I purchased my cobra tech Otf knives

Here is the one that has been deployed and retracted a million times. It still deploys and retracts just as the other new one that has not been deployed a handful of times.

I don’t know if the newer ones out now come razor sharp, but these two I bought did. Again they both are the first ones they built.
